Camp Director

Gene Peluso enters his seventh season as Head Coach of the RIT men's lacrosse program. In 2006 he led the Tigers to a 15-3 record and the Empire 8 Tournament championship. In addition, Peluso’s Tigers were ranked #4 in the Country. In 2007 the Tigers started the year 10-0 and were ranked 2nd in the country. The Tigers Final record was 14-3 as they won their 3 ECAC Championship in 4 years.

Over the past four years Peluso has led the Tigers to the "Top 5" in D III Lacrosse and amassed a 54-17 record. He has produced fifeteen USILA All-Americans, 45 All-Empire Eight honorees, nine North-South All-Star Game participants, two Empire 8 Rookies of the Year and the 2004 and 2006 Empire 8 Player of the Year and two Verizon Academic All-American and three USILA Academic All-American. Peluso currently serves on the NCAA All-American Committee for Division III Lacrosse.

Before coming to RIT, Peluso was the architect of the Lycoming College men's lacrosse program. While at Lycoming, Peluso directed the Warriors to a 41-30 record including a 32-13 mark in his final three seasons. In 2001, Peluso led Lycoming to its most successful season with an 11-3 record en route to its first-ever regular season Middle Atlantic Corporation Championship. Lycoming College finished 12-4 overall after placing second in the conference tournament and earned a USILA "Top 25" National Ranking.

During his tenure at Lycoming, Peluso coached two North/South participants, four All-Americans and 33 All-Conference award winners. He was also 1999 MAC Coach of the Year, and was the Chairperson for the MAC Lacrosse Committee from 1999-2001. Peluso served on the USILA All-American Committee from 1998-2001 and the USILA Ranking Committee from 1999-2001.

A native of Long Island, Peluso is no stranger to the Rochester area. The Nazareth College graduate helped guide the Golden Flyers to the NCAA Division III semifinals as a senior. He made his coaching debut at McQuaid Jesuit High School in 1992 and remained there for two seasons before making his collegiate coaching debut as an assistant at Drew University in Madison, NJ. Peluso served as an assistant at Drew from 1994-96.

In addition to coaching lacrosse at RIT, Peluso serves as the Assistant Director for Athletic Development and serves as the Director of the RIT Athletic Association. During the summer months, he operates the Tiger Lacrosse Camp and Upstate Lacrosse Challenge. Peluso and his wife, Beth reside in Mendon with their daughter, Stefani and son, Patrick.

Our camp will also have many other  top collegiate and HS coaches and players on staff who relate especially well to athletes ages 8 to 18. The Camp Staff stays on campus during the entire camp and the coaches are with the players all day.  

Health care and treatment of minor injuries will be handled on-site by full-time certified athletic trainers.  The trainers will refer any emergencies to the on-call medical doctor.
